Mit ihren 80 Kanonen galt die FRIESLAND als ein Schiff des zweiten Ranges. Sie wurde um 1663 gebaut und war Teil der großen Flotte der Vereinigten Provinzen von Holland, welche aus 1700 Einheiten bestand. 1672 nahm sie, flankiert von 77 Schiffen unter dem Kommando von De Ruyter, der sich selbst auf dem Flaggschiff "ZEVEN PROVINCIEN" befand, an der Schlacht von Solebay gegen die alliierten anglo-französischen Streitkräften teil.

Die Rekonstruktion des Modells erfolgte auf Grundlage von zuverlässigen niederländischen Quellen. Es zeichnet sich durch die besondere Feinheit der Heckverzierungen und der Decksaufbauten aus.

Second rank vessel with 80 guns built around 1663, part of the great 1700 units fleet of the United Province of Holland. In 1672, it took part, sided by 77 vessels, under De Ruyter's Command, on board of the admiral-ship "ZEVEN-PROVINCIEN" in the battle of Solebay with the allied Anglo-French forces.

The construction has been executed on the ground of a reliable Dutch documentation. The model distinguishes itself for the particular refinement of the poop decorations and the superstructures of decks.

En 1672 flanqué de 77 vaisseaux sous les ordres de De Ruyter, lui-même embarqué sur le vaisseau amiral "ZEVEN PROVINCIEN", il participa au combat de Solebay avec les forces alliées Anglo-Françaises.

La reconstruction a été exécutée sur la base d'une documentation de source hollandaise. Le modèle se distingue par la finesse particulière de ses décorations de poupe et des superstructures des ponts.
